Popular cell phone plans to consider

Network access is crucial for connecting to the internet and making and receiving calls using a cell phone. Verizon, T-Mobile, Mint Mobile, and Visible are the country’s leading companies offering this service. That said, every network provider offers multiple plans with unique benefits at different price points. So, it’s important to research well. Those having difficulty deciding which plan to pick can check out the popular mobile phone plans from different providers.

Mint Mobile

One of the most popular network providers, Mint Mobile is known to offer affordable cell phone plans. Customers can choose from four three-month plans: 5 GB, 15 GB, 20 GB, and Unlimited. All plans cost $15 for the first three months, after which the price increases depending on the chosen plan. One can renew the plans for 3, 6, or 12 months.

  • The 5 GB plan is suitable for those who do not use the internet often and hence need limited data. After three months, one can renew it at $25/month for three months, $20/month for six months, or $15/month for twelve months.
  • Next, the 15 GB plan can be renewed by paying $35/month for three months, $25/month for six months, or $20/month for twelve months.
  • Similarly, one can extend the 20 GB plan by paying $45/month for three months, $35/month for six months, or $25/month for twelve months.
  • The Unlimited plan is best for those who have heavy internet usage. It can be renewed at $40/month for three months, $35/month for six months, or $30/month for twelve months.

While customers can extend their service for three or six months, committing to a year keeps the cost low. Note that one must make an upfront payment when renewing any plan. All plans provide nationwide coverage, high-speed data, and unlimited talk and text.

Verizon

This carrier offers several exciting prepaid mobile phone plans, but the three most popular are the 15 GB, Unlimited, and Unlimited Plus.

  • Verizon’s 15 GB plan costs $45 for the first month and then $35/month with autopay. Being a limited data plan, it’s suitable for those who do not have heavy internet usage.
  • The Unlimited plan comes next, costing $60 for the first month and then $50/month with autopay. Customers get a 5 GB mobile hotspot with this plan.
  • The Unlimited Plus is the most expensive at $70 for the first month and then $60/month with autopay. It offers 25 GB of premium mobile hotspot.

Naturally, the more expensive prepaid Unlimited plans offer greater perks. Regardless of the plan customers choose, they must opt for the autopay scheme to save.

Visible

Owned by Verizon, Visible is another popular network provider with a broad range of plans. Two sought-after options one can consider are Visible and Visible Plus. While both offer unlimited data, talk, and text on Verizon’s networks, the other benefits differ.

  • The Visible plan costs $25/month or $275/year and provides 9-149 Mbps download speed and 5G & 4G LTE network access. Customers also get unlimited texting and calling to Mexico and Canada and a 5 Mbps mobile hotspot.
  • The Visible Plus plan is slightly more expensive at $45/month or $395/year but offers more benefits. For instance, subscribers get 50 GB/month of high-speed data and can connect to the 5G Ultra-Wideband network from Verizon where available. Besides unlimited talk and text in Mexico and Canada, users get unlimited messaging to over 200 countries.

While the $45 Plus plan from Visible has better perks, the $25 one will work for those seeking the cheapest unlimited data. Paying for the entire year can help one save even more.

Those porting from T-Mobile to Visible can use the special promo code “BYEBYETMO” to enjoy an additional $10 savings on the Visible plan’s standard monthly rate for five years.

T-Mobile

While T-Mobile has retired a few of its unlimited data plans for new subscribers, they still have interesting options.

  • The cheapest plan, called Essentials, starts at $90/month for three phone lines. It offers Unlimited talk and text and 50 GB of premium data.
  • If one doesn’t need the extra lines, they can choose the Essentials Saver. This plan offers all the same benefits for one line for $50/month.
  • With the Go5G plan, customers can enjoy 15 GB of full-speed data and 100 GB of internet before the speed drops. One can get this plan for $130/month for three phone lines.
  • The Go5G Plus adds travel and streaming perks and 50 GB of hotspot data. It costs $150/month for three phone lines.
  • Lastly, T-Mobile’s Go5G Next, which is the most expensive at $180/month for three phone lines, includes free Hulu, Netflix, and Apple TV Plus subscriptions.

Note that fees and taxes are not included in the Essentials and Essentials Saver plans, but other options cover them.

Since every provider has different plans, customers must compare the options and then make a selection. The prices can change, so it’s best to visit the brand’s website for the latest information.
