Chrysler Pacifica – Features and cost

The Chrysler Pacifica stands out as the sole minivan in the segment due to its convenient features and versatility. The Pacifica has a lot to offer, especially after its recent facelift. The minivan now boasts an all-wheel drive (AWD) option and a plug-in hybrid version that can travel 32 miles on a single battery charge. From power-packed performance to comfortable interiors, this vehicle makes it an excellent choice for those looking for a family car.

Performance

The new AWD Pacifica’s performance is more than what is expected from it. The minivan is equipped with a 3.6L V6 engine that develops a considerable amount of power – 287 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. The front-wheel drive is mostly standard, but one can equip the Pacifica with an AWD transmission, which distributes torque between the drive options to enhance traction on different drive terrains. Moreover, the nine-speed automatic transmission operates smoothly, providing the driver with much-needed comfort while driving.

Comfort

The Chrysler Pacifica features well-cushioned front seats that provide excellent comfort for long drives. These seats are equipped with an effective cooling and heating system. There’s enough leg room, and head room for all the occupants to sit comfortably. Further, the V6 engine is less noisy compared to the Pacifica Hybrid’s powertrain, as it uses a traditional automatic transmission instead of the Hybrid’s continuously variable one.

Interior

The user-friendly controls in the minivan are designed considering the driver’s comfort. The climate control and radio knobs are conveniently positioned, making them easily accessible for the driver. Additionally, the radio tuning and volume controls are thoughtfully located on the back of the steering wheel, enhancing the convenience and accessibility for the driver.

Stepping in and out of the car is also easy, courtesy of the low door sills, tall roofline, well-positioned seats, and big-sized door openings. There’s ample adjustable range from the driver’s steering wheel and the seat. The legroom is excellent, and the large windows installed all around prevent blind spots and offer seamless visibility. The Chrysler Pacifica also includes an optional 360-degree camera system that makes maneuvering in the cramped spots effortless.

A feature that stands out in this minivan is the Stow’ n Go Seating and storage system. This specific feature allows the users to fold the seats to the floor to load in more cargo or utilize the available storage in-floor bins when seats are not packed. The Chrysler Pacifica gas models can easily accommodate up to eight and offer up to 243 different seating configurations, making it a top choice for those looking for a van for a family with seniors.

Technology

Chrysler Pacifica includes an easy-to-use Uconnect-5 infotainment system, with access to up to five user profiles. It also has a large touchscreen with prompt responses to voice and touch inputs. The crisp graphics display information and navigation with ease, allowing the driver to focus on the road with any disturbances. Additionally, the wireless and Bluetooth connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration systems allow the driver and the occupants to connect their smartphones to gain access to information and entertainment all at the same time. It also offers several USB ports to connect multiple devices seamlessly on the go. Users can also use the app to control some of the functions remotely. There is an optional seatback video system to stream media, access music, podcast, navigation and more to stay entertained.

Beside this, the minivan includes a couple of standard driver-assist attributes. These include adaptive control, pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assistance, and forward-collision warning, to name a few. Its optional 360-degree surround camera can be a beneficial inclusion.

Storage capabilities

Minivans are predominantly about efficient usage of space and utility. And the Chrysler Pacifica does not disappoint here too. It has a vast cargo space behind the third row. One can easily fold the third-row seating manually to get more room for loading utilities and other items for long journeys.

It is the versatility in the second row that undoubtedly stands out. Folding the Stow ‘n Go seats into the floor is easy. When deployed, the underfloor storage spots open up surplus cargo space. The van also has cubbies, cupholders, and pockets to accommodate every cherished rock, coin, or bottle cap.

The easy Tilt Seating allows one to access the third row by lifting the lever and tilting the second-row seats forward while having an installed rear-facing child seat. And when properly equipped, the Chrysler Pacifica also offers a respectable towing capacity of 3,600 pounds, which is quite impressive for a minivan.

Trims and pricing

The Chrysler Pacifica is available in four different trims, each offering a set of unique features. The prices of these minivans are pretty competitive, accommodating a range of pockets.
